Air Duct Cleaning

Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

We own the strongest vacuum trucks available and we hook them up outside and start cleaning upstream so that we can control the airflow, dirt, and dust. Then, we visually inspect all the ducts and use air compressor rods to make sure all the ducts are free of dust. For the bigger air ducts, we use air whips and rods. For air ducts where we can crawl inside, we will cut access holes and actually crawl right inside to clean them. Sometimes, we connect two trucks together to generate even more vacuum power so that we can get the job done faster and better.

Vent Cover Cleaning Procedure

First, we take off the supply and return registers or vent covers by using a razor blade on 4 sides of the covers to free them from any paint. Then, we removed the screws and take the covers off so that we can wash them. Most companies don’t do this, they just clean from the outside to save time – but that is not enough. When washing registers, we use a garden hose and a degreaser so that they look like new again.

Musty and Moldy Air Ducts1. Musty and Moldy Odors

2. Dusty Surfaces

3. Rodents or Insects

4. Construction Dust

5. Rising Energy Costs

Energy Savings

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25 to 40 percent of the energy used for heating or cooling a home is wasted. Contaminants in the heating and cooling system cause it to work harder and shorten the life of your system. Although filters are used, the heating and cooling system still gets dirty through normal use. HVAC system cleaning may help systems to run more efficiently by removing debris from sensitive mechanical components. When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain the temperature you desire. As a result, less energy is used, leading to improved cost-effectiveness.

Clean HVAC systems are also less likely to break down and thus have a longer life span, saving you money in the long run. According to the US Department of Energy, homeowners can cut their energy bill by as much as 20% to 30% by simply doing proper HVAC system maintenance, including air duct cleaning. Servicing your HVAC unit regularly (and also replacing filters each month) can go a long way toward optimal energy efficiency.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Clean, efficient systems are less likely to break down, have a longer life span, and generally operate more effectively than dirty systems.
